Christian radio in the Mid-Willamette Valley consists of three primary frequencies: [WWW]107.1FM (K-LOVE), [WWW]107.9FM (KHPE), and [WWW]790AM (KWIL). KLOVE is mostly Christian Contemporary, while KHPE is Christian Contemporary plus some teaching early mornings/evenings and on weekends. KWIL is mostly teaching but with some "Classic Christian" (the kind we used to listen to back in the 70s/80s) and Southern Gospel on Saturday nights. YeeHaw! Another station that is weaker (transmitter is in Springfield) is [WWW]Family Radio, 88.9FM which has alot of the older hymns (yes!) and some teaching programs. Founder Harold Camping's theology is a bit wacky, but the music is peaceful. Ahhh... http://www.quinnipiac.edu/Images/newsandevents/wqun/old_radio.jpg

Those living farther north may also be able to pick up [WWW]104.1, "The Fish".

For Christian talk radio there's [WWW]KPDQ 93.9FM, but it's up in Portland, so hard for us to receive most of the time.

For soothing, non-commercial classical, [WWW]91.1 KWAX is wonderful 24 hours a day.

For news, it's tough to beat [WWW]NPR (National Public Radio), locally broadcast on KOAC, 550AM to the Mid-Valley. Don't forget to remind yourself that on social issues their perspective will be to the left of center about 99% of the time. That said, they do put out lots of news and coverage on practically everything that is going on in the world. Their [WWW]"Morning Edition" weekday mornings and their [WWW]"All Things Considered" weekday afternoons really do cover much of what's going on in the world. As far as the economy [WWW]"Marketplace" at 4pm weekdays gives that picture.

Of course, if you want Beaver sports, go to 1240AM, KEJO.

Duck Fans: tune to 1580AM, KGAL.
