Music Class starting this fall:
“Learn to Play the Recorder,” taught by Annette Miller
The soprano recorder is an inexpensive, accessible, and fun instrument for children, and is a great tool for teaching note reading, rhythm reading, solo and ensemble playing, and self-discipline. In addition to being a beautiful instrument on its own, skills and concepts learned on the recorder will be useful in learning to play other instruments.
This 9-week introductory class will be held 10:00-10:30 on Tuesday mornings at North Albany Community Church, 1273 West Thornton Lake Drive. The class will run from September 18 to November 13. Children ages 8 to 12 are welcome. This will be the only beginning class offered this year.
Cost will be $45, and will cover all instructional materials. A recorder will be $4.00 extra, or students can bring their own recorders if they have them (Dollar Store recorders are not recommended).
For more information, call Annette Miller at 541-926-3168, or <Annette_C_Miller AT msn DOT com>. To register for the class, send a check to Annette Miller, 3115 18th Ave. SE, Albany, OR, 97322.
